Dave Nelsen Scholarship
Our Mission is Education, thus NAOHSM supports students both young and mature who wish to continue their education. This year NAOHSM and industry friends awarded 9 $2000.00 scholarships. In addition to the six (6) that NAOHSM provides, Delevan and Taco again sponsored one each and Honeywell added an additional scholarship this year.
To be considered a candidate, a student is required to write a 500 word essay and complete a simple form. The resume needs to be submitted to the National Office by mid March.
Our panel of judges includes Don Kurz, who was Dave Nelsen’s employer and friend, editors of industry publications and Art Nelsen, Dave’s brother. All recipients of awards and their families are invited to be our guest at our annual Awards Banquet which is held during our convention and trade show.
Funds are raised thru our annual Golf Tournament held during our convention. We especially want to thank Thermo Pride for continually sponsoring the prizes, thanks to our hole sponsors and others that help make this a financial success.
