Some Sad News to Report
Last week we learned that two very dedicated and important people from our industry passed away.
Leonard Wojtkowiak (White) – Len passed away August 3. He was formally from Haddon Heights NJ and a secretary for the South Jersey Chapter for many years. He was an Army pilot during WWII. Leonard had been the owner of Stanley Heat & Fuel Co. that later became Mohrfeld and Stanley. Basically up until his death, Len was associated with Retrofit Specialists. Anyone that knew Len knew how much he enjoyed both the Oilheating industry and the many people who work in this industry. Many know Len’s son, Ken White.
Joe Balogna, Westchester Chapter was an early pioneer of the Association. We learned of his passing about a week ago. Joe was a National President from 1976-1979. There will be a memorial service held at a later date.

Oil Heat Cares Benefit Seminar
Have fun, help raise money for a good cause by attending our seminar on September 11th at the Gettysburg Hotel, Gettysburg, PA. The cost is $99.00 person and includes the seminar, Greening Steam by Dan Holohan and a great buffet sponsored and plenty of chances to win door prizes. Thanks to our sponsor, Burnham, all proceeds go to Oil Heat Cares.
Upcoming Seminars
The final touches have been put on the new class, How Much a Gallon?? In other words, communicating with customers during a period of escalating prices. This new class is being delivered by John Levey and Joe Vassallo and sponsored by NAOHSM. Anyone that has contact with customers should attend this timely class.
There will be 2 classes offered a day. For the classes being held in New Jersey and MA, the cost to your company will be $49.00 per person up to 5 people and the sixth person is free.
This class will earn NORA CEU’s and attendees will feel more empowered about what to say when customers ask questions such as, why is the price so high? They will learn more about oil in general – how the world market affects us, where the information comes from. They will learn how to prepare for discussions with customers, dealing with upset and angry customers. Simply put, you will feel better just knowing the facts and you will be better prepared to work with your customers.
